Every mountaineer would agree that Appalachian State University is a great place. However, we want to promise to make Appalachian feel a little more like home. Below is our platform based on over 1700 student opinions. 

At home your voice is heard​

             -   Transparency​
                           -   Senators and Cabinet members would visit clubs and organizations

                                to gather information on a regular basis, as well as let these clubs

                                know the current direction of SGA.
                           -   Reforming of Senator Research​
                           -   Students are emailed what their respective senator is working on and

                                how they voted through the Glass Door Campaign​
                           -   iClicker - Students will be informed on how their senator voted and

                                what they voted for



At home you are safe

            -    Implementation of a smartphone “Lifeline App” to ensure student safety​

             -   Better salting of roads​ especially on Bodenheimer and near Mountaineer
             -   Improving counseling services and mental health at Appalachian



At home you are a part of the table​

             -   Extend ASUnity towards Gender Neutral Housing​
             -   Greeks/Beeper system​
             -   Transportation for APH Residents​
             -   Support of multicultural clubs on campus



At home things are easier​

             -   24/5 Library Hours​
             -   Tech Services Expansion - expand wi-fi and Appalnet/Asulearn smartphone App​
             -   Coffee Kiosk at Raley Hall and West-Side​
             -   Printers in Residence Halls​
             -   Merit based parking

             -   Looking into the plausibility of Club Storage

 

At home you care​

             -   Sustainability

             -   Elimination of styrofoam

             -   Continuation of the EcoBox

             -   Implementation of human-powered transportation

             -   Making classrooms paperless. Submitting assignments online

             -   Eliminating plastic bags
             -   Expansion of food labeling and options including Gluten-Free, Kosher, Halaal, and

                 Vegan options
